Tailor-made Post Graduate Programs
WestGate offers post graduate programs for Licensed Professional Counselors, Doctoral Internships, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and other graduate programs as well as a limited number of undergraduate work experiences designed to help undergraduates decide whether to enter a graduate program in a MFT related field.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Internships

Clinical supervision is available for LMFT Interns who aspire to attain full licensure as marriage and family therapists. A limited number of in house Fellowships are offered for those interested in receiving supervision while seeing clients in the MFT Teaching Clinic. LMFT Interns working elsewhere may also contract for supervision by the WestGate faculty on an individual basis.

Licensed Professional Counselor
If you have completed a 48 hour master’s degree or higher in counseling or in a related discipline and your transcript shows that have completed the required coursework along with the completion of a 150 hour counseling practicum, and a 600 hour internship which dealt with the assessment and treatment of the more serious problems, then you are ready to take the step to become a licensed professional counselor intern. Play Therapy Certificate Program
The purpose of the program is to provide training in the theory and practice of play therapy. The training through the certificate program offers the academic requirements and supervision necessary for pursuing status as a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy (APT).  Mentorships for Supervisor Candidates
Candidates for Approved Supervisor in the AAMFT and LSMFT in South Carolina may receive the required graduate course in MFT Supervision for AAMFT and the South Carolina Board of Examiners for the Licensure of LPC, LMFT and LPES. They also may receive the supervision of supervision required of the supervisory mentorship. Two Fellowships will be maintained regularly involving Candidates providing supervision of Teaching Clinic MFT students/interns as a part of their mentorship. At least one Diversity Fellowship will be maintained for MFT supervisors. This is a two year program.
